BASTAF is an anaerobic reacting tank with thin baffles and an anaerobic filter compartment which swirls in upward direction. Its function is to treat living waste water and other types of waste water which have the same composition and properties with living waste water.
Technological process and equipment of BASTAF
According to principle, waste water is brought to the first drawer of tank, which prevents deposit – anaerobic fermentation, and harmonize volume and concentration of pollution in waste water. By filter compartment following direction, in the next drawers, waste water moves up-to-down direction, touching with anaerobic microbes in sludge at the bottom of tank in rough condition, organic pollution is absorbed and transferred by microbes, simultaneously, allowing 2 separated phases (acid fermentation and alkali fermentation). BASTAF increases time of mud storing, so that treatment efficiency goes up while the amount of sludge decreases. The last drawers are anaerobic filter compartment, cleansing adding waste water, preventing floating deposit to output water by anaerobic microbes on the surface of filter material particles.

Standard: Using BASTAF tank to treat living waste water has good, stable productivity (average treatment productivity depends on floating SS deposit content, COD oxidization demand, BOD5 oxidization from 70% to 75%). Comparing with ordinary cesspool in good working condition, BASTAF has 2-3 times treatment productivity. Waste water after treatment has standard of TCVN 5945 – 1995 (emission, industrial waste water standard), TCVN (6980/2001 to 6987/2001, up to the point to receive waste water)

- At present, BASTAF is applied to produce at industrial level, villages and families.
- Technical requirement is not complex, familiar operation like ordinary cesspool.
